A transmedia brand system for the digital future.
KA:EF is a family-run manufacturer of abrasives. COVID-19 and the buzzword "Industry 4.0" were the trigger to look boldly into the future and to reposition the own brand. The result is a completely new visual identity that sets the company apart from other market players in B2B communication. Corporate design manuals and style guides are outdated, imply rigid identities and quickly become boring. If you want a long-term solution, the identity must be dynamic and adapt flexibly to circumstances. By having a scalable and dynamic design system, it can survive in today's world where the brand must adapt to print-based media, digital channels, the physical world and the global economy.

The project was developed as part of my master’s thesis in collaboration with KA.EF. Schleifmittel and was awarded as the best master's degree of the semester 20/21 at Münster School of Design.

Visual identity for a Münster based Design Conference.
The conference focuses on the chances and challenges of the changing media world. What roles can print media take over in times of digitalization? What ideas and opportunities does digital reading hold? How does our reading behavior change? FURE offers room for statements, visions and positions by established and up-and-coming designers. As part of the organization team, we were able to welcome a variety of local, national guests from the design field and influential type designers. Among the speakers of 2019 we hosted Malin Schulz, Jan-Albert Pool, Henning Skibbe and many more.

My concept was awarded the "Certificate of Typographic Excellence" by the Type Directors Club New York.

Dynamic brand system for a semi annual graduate exhibition.
The goal of the project was to create a new identity that combines the different visualities of the upcoming exhibitions and can be continued by students in the project context "Parcours" in the coming years. The result is a dynamic and transmedial identity with fixed and variable design elements that present Parcours as a consistent and serious brand, but also offer enough possibilities to make Parcours diverse in each semester. Within this framework, the appearance of the exhibition in February 2020 was developed, a modular exhibition system was developed, and the content was meaningfully integrated into analog media such as the exhibition catalog and digital platforms such as social media and the website.

This project was created by a group of students. My role: Research & Concept, Visual Identity, 3D, Motion

Platform and magazine for new typographic experiences.

Good typography expresses the professionalism of a project. What the target group often doesn't notice is a long process for us designers: finding a suitable typeface for the concept, testing it, rejecting it, deciding, buying it, using it correctly. This process is often laborious and time-consuming. That's why Typophil exists - as a website and as a magazine! The website has the advantage of finding typefaces with keywords that describe their "personalities", thus simplifying the search. The magazine picks up where these questions left off with news, reports, features and interviews, showing the possibilities of what type can do and what the future of typography looks like.

Thanks to the contributors:
Stefan Sagmeister, Pentagram, Moby Digg, Tim Lindacher, TypeMates, Bureau Bordeaux, Frank Frausch, Sonja Knecht, etc.

The project was developed together with Johanna Albrecht as part of my bachelor’s thesis.
